Gambit, is a bit like an episode of Hustle with a few silly gags along the way, but unfortunately it is not as funny as it could be.
The end reveal sequence is great, but the previous 80 minutes are really quite poor, the laughs are few and far between, and it certainly fails the 6 laugh out loud moments rule which constitutes a decent comedy.
After winning an Oscar last year, I think Colin Firth needs to stick to what he is good at, because this is extremely poor.
The cast list may make a few people want to see this, Firth, Diaz and Rickman, but this will go down as one of their more forgettable performances, and give it a year or two and it might well turn up as a pointless answer.
Instantly forgettable, saved slightly by the ending 5/10
